Brigg

Sunday Worship 10.30 am every Sunday

Our Sunday morning worship is a hybrid worship. With the aid of our up-to-date IT equipment, we are able to stream the service in the chapel live on Zoom. Our IT also enables us to download and use videos and modern worship songs in our services as well as displaying the words of hymns, prayers and bible readings. The sermon is recorded for anyone to listen to via Dial a Sermon.

United services with our friends from St. John’s C of E are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

Brigg Methodist Church has a strong sense of fellowship. Many of our members and visitors say that they felt “at home” when they come to worship. We hope that will be your experience too!

We believe that the church is the people, and our mission statement is….

-to sustain and develop a committed Christian presence.

-to promote greater awareness of church activities in the local community

– to recognise and support the needs of people within the wider world

Whilst cherishing our Methodist heritage, we are blessed in being able to share with other local Christian churches and pray that together we may be able to put into practice the commands of Jesus. We work closely with our neighbouring church, St. Mary’s RC and with St. Johns C of E and we regularly join together for Lent or Advent courses and annual events such as the Good Friday Walk of Witness, Remembrance Sunday and at Christmas.

Many of our members, together with people from other churches in the area, have formed 2 Open The Book teams, going monthly into 7 local primary schools to present and perform, in costume, a Bible Story.

We also work closely together as volunteers at the Oikos-Brigg project, which is a registered Christian charity, based at 67 Wrawby Street. Oikos runs the local Foodbank and a Christian book, card and gift shop (see separate Oikos page).

Our church premises are very well maintained and adaptable, comprising of a worship area, with removeable seating for various types of worship, including café church. Sliding partitions enable this area to be extended. We have a coffee lounge and prayer room. All the rooms are available for private bookings and the rooms are well used by local groups.

Details of our premises and how to book them, can be found on livewellnorthlincolnshire.org.uk.

We are proud that we are an Eco Church and have been awarded a Silver Plaque. We are working towards gaining our Gold Award by increased and continued use of Eco-friendly and Fairtrade products. We are excited about plans to work with a nearby school to create an Eco Community Garden at the rear of our premises. The church has a strong sense of community and offers support for many local town events. It is an associate member of the Brigg Town Partnership.
