About Glentham

Although small we are a lively and active Church. The building was once a Village Institute, providing venue and accommodation for visiting Theatre Companies, becoming a Methodist church in 1911. It has a large garden and house attached with a short term lease. It is the only Methodist church remaining in a 7 mile radius.

Our contact with local communities is through monthly Men’s Breakfast, Prayer & Bible study, Sugar & Spice (Ladies). Various opportunities for mission are taken by the distribution of Christian Magazines and Newspapers.  By this means and through prayer, the Church seeks to grow in faith and fellowship. with new initiatives and friendly welcomes.

At the invitation of primary schools in Hemswell Cliff and Normanby by Spital we present Christian assemblies at monthly intervals, during school terms.

Worship

Glentham Chapel congregation currently meet twice a month at 10:30AM (1st and 3rd Sunday of the month); occasionally sharing joint services with the Parish Church on the 2nd Sunday of the month.

In addition, prior to the Pandemic, we occasionally held Café style worship and film afternoons.
It may be of interest to know that BBQ’s (pre-pandemic) were often held after special services in the summer. (We hope to do so again in the future.)
